Miniature wonder

In the less observed spaces
With weathered or roughly hewn surfaces
Let your eyes purposefully linger
Just a while longer
And stay silent and still.
Then, notice you will
Minute plants that made their homes
In the fissures on roads
Or the crevices of rocks,
Or cracks on bricks and blocks…
They don’t merely survive
But spiritedly, joyously thrive
With sturdy stems, leaves, flowers, seeds and all
Standing calm, dainty and tall
Regardless of shade, sun, rain or storms
Flouting all mindful gardener’s norms
Trampled not by the heaviest of wheels
Or the callous strides of many-a-heels
Plants like these, plants like these
That with such casual ease
And seemingly simplicity
Tide over what we consider adversity
Surely deserve beyond a mention?
Perhaps a hearty ovation
For just persisting and being
A steady, consistent and reliable being
So thoroughly ever inspiring
