Blue, brown, black, green and grey

A green bee-catcher in repose,
could be an artist’s vivid muse.
A black-capped Cinereous Tit
on the rim, it does serenely sit
almost out of focus, blurred
yet for me a never before seen bird
sporting striking shades of black and grey
after cooling its heels in the water tray.
The sun warmed Sun-bird happily croons
ushering in uplifting afternoons.
The white-throated kingfisher
makes the moments brighter
with a lens-ful of brilliant blue shimmer
at odds with its nut brown appearance
a tribute to aesthetic incoherence
