Books & food

Weekends are made of these
Fulfilling meals and reading books that please
An earthy and grounded made-from-the-scratch gourmet spread
Freshly baked loaf of garlic bread
To munch on while reading a page turner
Such a savoury heart warmer
A layer of crunchy breadcrumbs and garlic reveal
A scrumptious and satisfying meal
With nuanced flavoring
Aesthetic and enticing garnishing
Pasta holding eggplants stuffed generously with cheese
A dish to surely appease
With chunky red sauce delicious and fiesty
Followed by melt-in-the-mouth carrot cake so yummy
Makes it wholesome, nourishing and tasty
A heady gastronomical composition
Combined with reading makes for a soul warming fusion
Bringing the weekend to a memorable conclusion.

Thanks to ‘1492 World Food & Teas’ for making many a weekends memorable epicurean experiences with it’s divinely appealing spread of preserves, appetizers, main courses and desserts. Millionaire shortbread and carrot cake deserve special mention, both being my personal favourites. 🙂
And the weekend read…’Good Omens’ by Terry Pratchett & Neil Gaiman. More on the book later.
